The History of Photo Printing
Since the beginning of time the only way to show a graphical representation of someone was to have a drawing or painting done. This relied on the eye of the artist and we only have to look at the works of Picasso to know that this can be a little bit dubious!
However, the 1800′s were to see this whole concept turned on its head with the invention of photography. Creating pictures that were a true representation of person or object was a huge stepping stone and a new method of communication.
Photography became more and more complicated over time but has, in the last twenty years or so, seen a move into the more simplistic of interests with the advent of digital imagery. Photo printing has moved out of the dark room and onto the computer for most although some enthusiasts like to keep the idea of roll film and dark rooms alive. It is now possible to take photos with mobile phones, download them onto a small shop machine and have your photos printed in a matter of minutes – a concept that would have been totally alien and futuristic not so long ago!
