Search Engine Optimisation Saves Cowell Reputation
One aspect to search engine optimisation is the ability to tweek Google search results to protect a persons reputation, or brand. This is done through positive publicity being optimised to ensure it comes way above stories that are not so favoured. X Factor jusdge, Simon Cowell, is the latest celebrity to be suspected of this practice but so what, I say?
Cowell is well known for his abrupt bluntness towards people that don’t have talent and this has earned him some enemies who then take every opportunity to smear his reputation. Some think the bluntness is needed so as not to raise peoples hopes and some think that it may just be part of the show. Even so, this man is not in the music business to be wasting his time on those who can’t sing anymore than anyother industry boss would take on somebody who cannot do the job they would be paid to do.
So does Cowell deserve the bad publicity or does he have every right to use search engine optimisation to protect his reputation?
Well, he has worked hard all his life and makes no secret of enjoying his money – why shouldn’t he? However, he is one of the few celebrities who likes to share his wealth with less fortunate people to help them. Sometimes, this is reported in the press but not from his own camp – Cowell does not blow his own trumpet but papparrazzi have the knack of weedling out information which then looks as though the person they are writing about has publisied facts when they haven’t.
With a will that donates £90 million – yes, thats NINETY MILLION POUNDS – to charity he obviously wants to use his wealth for the good of others and is not even willing to wait until then. He also works tirelessly with charities in an ongoing mission to help others and it’s not just a case of throwing money at them either. An avid supporter of The Association of Childrens Hospices, Cowell will pop in and visit children and staff whenever he gets the chance – the mark of a man that does actually care! He also produced the charity single for survivors of the 2010 Haiti earthquake and supports animal rights charities.
Ok, so you don’t have to like him but at the end of the day he works hard and helps others. If his reputation is trashed in the media would he be able to continue having such an influence over these charities? I think not.
