Getting Away From It All
There’s nothing quite like a few days away to refresh and re-charge, particularly at this time of year. The excitement of Christmas has come and gone and winter has properly set in. Nights are cold, the days are long and dismal. Really there is no end in sight until at least Easter.
That’s why I love to have a secret few days away in Europe booked. Usually just a long weekend is enough. I take off and find myself a hotel in a city I’ve never visited before. It can be anywhere in Europe, like a Bristol hotel(s), and I allow myself to be pampered and do just as I please. If I want to sit all day eating chocolate and reading books, then that’s exactly what I do! If I want to venture out and meet the locals and people-watch from pavement cafes all wrapped up against the chills then I will. Then I can return ready for work and to keep going for a little longer.
